I haven’t been on my WordPress blog in over a year now! I was very surprised to log on and see that today, May 31st, marks my 7th year of writing here.

Patheos

I’m forever grateful for the time I spent writing on Patheos. I’ve been struggling to write for my column there, and the truth is, I haven’t posted on there since December ’22.

I’ve decided that it’s for the best that I return to this ol’ blog here. Patheos has been a great experience for me, but I don’t think I’m able to make myself write on there as much as I used to.

When I joined them in February ’22, writing was my biggest passion. Now, nature photography has taken that spot. Part of me is shocked to be saying that. Especially as an English major!

What Now?

I honestly have no idea how often I’ll be writing here on my WordPress blog. Between my two part-time jobs and photography pursuits, it’s difficult to set aside writing time.

Especially when I’m lucky enough to capture scenes like this footpath from Highbanks Metro Park!

If you’d like, feel free to check out my photography portfolio on SmugMug. I’ve had a blast, seeing how far I can push the boundaries of mobile photography. There are definitely some limitations to not having a full-blown camera, but with my new Samsung S23, I’ve been able to take some lucky shots!

My love of photography has become strong enough to motivate me to consider opening an Etsy online store. I’d love to put some of my favorite pictures on there as digital downloads and see how far they go!

I have no idea what the path forward for me looks like right now, and that’s ok. It’ll be “picture perfect”, one way or another!
